Cathy brings more than a decade of content and copywriting experience to the Oliven Labs team, where she translates complex healthcare topics for everyday people. She specializes in aging and technology and has often written about dementia, hearing loss, Medicare, and pharmaceuticals. Cathy holds a bachelor’s degree in English with a double minor in biology and chemistry, plus a certificate in gerontology. Her research process involves reading academic literature, interviewing experts, running surveys and focus groups, and getting hands-on whenever possible. Her work has appeared on SELF, SingleCare, AOL, My Health Teams, and more. You may also spot Cathy writing about home improvement and safety on sites like SafeWise and Popular Living.

Nicole is a licensed physical therapist who regularly treated patients across the lifespan. Her work often involved collaborating with clinic administrative assistants to educate patients (and caregivers) about treatment plan options and financial resources. Over the last five years, Nicole has written senior-level content for clinics and publishers, covering health products and services for the National Council on Aging, HelpGuide, Marketwatch, AOL, and Everyday Health. Research is her favorite part about writing—she loves deep-diving into real user experiences, conducting surveys and focus groups, and using academic research to develop impactful and relatable content.
